It's Official

It's been a busy couple of days, but we're done with all the paperwork for Vaishnavi's visa. We flew from Pune to Delhi on Wednesday and went directly from the airport to the US Embassy. We visited the Citizenship & Immigration office (and filed our I-600), and then we went to the Visa office and started that paperwork. Thursday morning we went to get a medical checkup for Vaishnavi. This amounted to 2 hours of waiting + 3 minutes with the doctor. Then it was back to the embassy, where our Visa interview and processing went remarkably quickly. So by lunchtime today we were all set with our official documents, and we can bring Vaishnavi home!!

We had the afternoon for shopping, or stimulating the local economy, as my mother likes to say. Everything's gone smoothly, but we're very tired. We can't wait to come home.

Congratulations! Now all you have to do is get home... just a 3,000 hour plane ride and you're all set!
